Venting

STOCK

We have a large, but limited stock of venting for wood, gas and pellet stoves, fireplaces, and inserts. We do have a residual stock of 'new old stock' for obsolete or older heating units. We do not carry parts for heaters or cook stoves although occasionally the venting is the same.

Be prepared to provide the following information when inquiring about venting:

  • the part number, if you know it; if not, then
  • the make (manufacturer), model and serial number of the unit (in some cases the venting is different for the same model and changed after a given serial number)

If neither the part number nor the unit information are available, then we need to know:

  • the type of unit (wood, gas or pellet)
  • the diameter of the venting
  • if it is wood burning, are you looking for venting that runs from the unit to the ceiling ('stove pipe') or through the attic to the roof ('chimney pipe') or both; they are different for wood stoves.
  • any unusual structural situations that may call for special venting parts (such as routing around beams, etc.)

You will need to know the total length of venting needed and any connector parts such as elbows to turn the venting, thimbles or support boxes for wall/ceiling penetrations, supports for long sections, and roof venting (flat, pitched or steep roofs).

If you are replacing a damaged part, then we will either need to know the manufacturer of the existing venting (to ensure that the new part fits with the old parts and to meet code requirements) or you can bring the damaged part into the store so we can match it. In some cases, it may be possible to successfully match the vent from a photo of it (along with complete dimensions).

ORDERING

What we don't have in stock we can usually order, although be aware that any unit over ten years old may be discontinued or considered obsolete and it may be difficult to locate the correct part. In some cases, parts are no longer available, particularly for units over twenty years old. Newer parts often supersede older parts, and the newer part is what is available.   Other parts are only obtainable as 'Special Order' parts and these parts typically have a lead time of 6-8 weeks, cannot be returned, and are considerably more expensive than currently produced parts.

For more information call us at (307) 638-4543 or e-mail parts@thekingsfireplace.com.

Parts for Wood Fireplaces or Wood Stoves

We have a limited stock of replacement hardware for wood stoves and wood fireplaces. These parts are primarily specific to particular makes and models. There are relatively few 'generic' parts, so the make, model, and serial number or year of manufacture is necessary to correctly identify the needed part. We can also attempt to match a part if you bring it into the store. What we do not have in stock we can usually order, but in the case of units over ten years old, the parts may no longer be available.

Parts for Gas Stoves, Gas Fireplaces and Gas Inserts

We carry a limited stock of parts for gas stoves, including 'new old stock' for a miscellaneous variety of units. We will be happy to check our stock for obsolete or discontinued items, but we cannot guarantee that we will have any given item.

Be prepared to provide the following information when inquiring about parts for gas appliances:

  • the part number, if you know it; if not, then
  • the make (manufacturer), model and serial number of the unit (in some cases the parts are different for the same model and were changed after a given serial number).
  • the name of the part or a description of it or what it does;
  • in the case of modifications to your unit, it may be necessary for one of our technicians to physically examine the part itself or you can bring it into the store, although we do not recommend removing parts yourself.

If neither the part number nor the unit information are available, then we need to know:

  • the type of gas it uses: Natural gas (NG) or Liquid Petroleum/Propane (LP/LPG)
  • the type of unit: Freestanding, Fireplace, or Insert
  • type of start: Manual (Do you turn a gas valve and light a pilot light with a match or ignitor?) or Remote Start (Do you flip a switch, turn a knob, or press a button either on the wall or with a remote controller?)
  • Is your unit controlled by a thermostat?
  • the name of the part, if you know it, or
  • a physical description of it or a description of what it does. In this case, it is almost always best if you have a technician look at it rather than working on your unit yourself. Gas can be dangerous if not handled properly and fires may occur if parts are not installed correctly.

Parts for Pellet Stoves

We carry a limited stock of parts for pellet stoves, but we do not recommend that you attempt to repair or replace parts on your pellet stove yourself. Pellet stoves are quite complex and operate according to strict specifications. Failure to correctly install a part can damage either your stove or your home or both.

When inquiring about pellet stove parts we need to know:

  • the part number, if you know it; if not, then
  • the make (manufacturer), model and serial number of the unit (in some cases the parts are different for the same model and were changed after a given serial number)
  • the name of the part or a description of it or what it does
  • in the case of modifications to your unit, it may be necessary for one of our technicians to physically examine the part or you can bring it into the store, although we do not recommend removing parts yourself.

Parts for Outdoor Grills and Barbeques

We carry a very limited stock of Outdoor Grill or barbeque parts but can usually order what you need. In the case of older units, it may be difficult or impossible to locate any given part or the parts may no longer be available.  Replacement hardware is very specific to the make and model of the unit, so we need to know the make (manufacturer), model and serial number of your grill in order to correctly identify the part.

For inquiries about parts for your outdoor grill or barbeque, we need to know:

  • the part number, if you know it; if not, then
  • the make (manufacturer), model and serial number of the unit (in some cases the parts are different for the same model and changed after a given serial number).
  • the name of the part or a description of it or what it does

You can also bring the part into the store and we will do our best to match it.
